If life is a gift from God that we might live it, than the word of God is the gift which will instruct us how to live this life godly and pleasing to Him.
I love the word of God because is the most powerful tool we can possess on the earth, a manual, love letter, however you call it, it’s very powerful- if we know how to use it.
Some say we need to read lot, some say we can read little, but what I have realized is that without the grace given by the Holy Spirit to understand the word of God, none of the previous two things mentioned will help us. We read in Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
There is a lot to be said about this verse only, I will mention few things. The word of God is so alive that I can read one verse from a passage and it will keep me alive for months if not years, just one verse. How is that even possible you might ask, well it’s active, at all times and it energizes you.
Once the Holy Spirit said to me, if you can try to find all the sharpest swords of this earth and collect them in one place, My word is sharper than all of them together. My advice to all who preach from this word of God is always use the gloves of grace while handling this sharp sword so you don’t cut and bruise others and you don’t cut yourself, cause it’s very sharp.
I saw also a picture in my spirit that the word of God is like a judge who sits in my mind and judges all the thoughts which are there and those which are not from the Holy Spirit, it rules them out.
With the grace Jesus Christ gave us we can now read, understand, and truly live the lifestyle which is written in the Bible, it’s really not hard. John 1:16 “From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.”
We all received grace to understand and love the word of God. While reading ,studying and living this word of God, we will realize that grace is present on every page.
What a good and perfect gift from our Father in heaven, to give us His word to us.
Grace be with you.
