Hebrews 12:2 …Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
We must know that Jesus’ righteousness took Jesus on the cross with one and one purpose only-so that very same righteousness to be imparted in us. God’s love was the foundation and the atmosphere in which Jesus came, but the reason was the righteousness He carried within, willing to give it to us, so we can be justified once and for all, for the whole eternity. This is the absolute truth( Hebrews 10:10,14).
When Jesus came, He came because of the joy. Again, in Hebrews 12:2 it reads that Jesus endured the cross for the joy that was set before Him. What is the joy to Jesus today as it was back then while He was on the cross? We often think that His joy is when we give..no,no! His joy is you and I. When Jesus came, joy was the reason, because He imparted His righteousness in us, and now when He looks at us, He sees us justified and He rejoices!
My desire is that we will rejoice continually with Him and His righteousness, that He will remain our very joy. Perhaps sometimes we don’t know how to truly rejoice because we don’t fully understand the spiritual truths, yet Jesus rejoices with us-continually, wholly and absolutely.
