Listening to the Holy Spirit

“But when He, the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the Truth. For He will not speak His own message, but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father] and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come.” John 16:13

Personally I am fascinated by this statement from Jesus Christ, because He gave the same statement about Himself, that He doesn’t do anything unless He hears from His Father. When we engage the adventure with the Holy Spirit, we will witness things beyond our imagination, things we haven’t thought about, or even if we did, we weren’t bold enough to ask for them. As it’s written in the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit is like a wind, no one can see where exactly comes from or where does it go. We need to be open to hear and listen to Him, so He take us where He pleases. We live in a world where we are surrounded with difficulties, but if we learn to listen to Him, then we will witness how the Word of God in us is dealing with the difficulties. It’s up to us to choose what thoughts we’ll entertain, because one thing is for sure: they will have powerful influence in our life. Through the strength of the Holy Spirit we can focus our thoughts on Jesus and His glorious presence, His work in us and around us. We can actually speak to our thoughts because our spirit which is perfect can influence our mind that needs to be constantly renewed. If we don’t speak of the things of the Holy Spirit, then we’ll speak of something else contrary to His thoughts. The present is the moment where we fight the good fight of faith. If we do that today, we are establishing the foundation for tomorrow.

We are the ones deciding whether we stay put on our position to receive and then to freely give!
