“Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.”
The heavenly things determine the things here on earth. Right before this verse, it is emphasized: being risen with Christ…so we should be encouraged that we have the insight of Heaven and shouldn’t be driven by the things here, but rather we should expect heavenly things to be manifested here on earth. Regardless of what is happening down here, we can always expect greater things. We are called and therefore we have been given the access to see the truth in heavenly realities. And the truth is we are righteous and that is why we have the privilege and the authority to use the name of Jesus Christ. When we proclaim His name, it attracts the heavenly blessings and releases the grace needed. Many of us pray the familiar prayer: “make us Christlike, oh Lord!” If we want to become like Him then the challenge for us will always be to go around the momentary reality when we encounter despicable character;and start to see God’s intentions for that person. Many of the people we meet might die unchanged or with lots of problems, but here’s our part: in spite of all that mess we ought to focus on God’s plan for them, because only then we’ll be able to love them without judging them.
Those who are without close relationship with Christ anyhow are condemned and they condemn others, but as for us we have been enabled to see life where there isn’t any…and to bring life! Jesus Christ is the High Priest of our profession, so let’s confess life and let’s continue in the patience of Christ for the others.
