Because we are led by the Spirit, we are able to hear Him speak from a different reality and that’s God’s word or His promises.
You see, these spoken promises of God toward us surpass the momentary reality of the circumstances in our lives. When we focus and worry about what the government has decided or our families have decided, by default that is focusing on circumstances.
Circumstances though, have one thing in common-they will pass no matter what. And the sad thing is that so many Christians live according to their circumstances and have entered a circle of doing the same things over and over again. They come to a point of living a life in lethargy because they have allowed to live according to what they see around them.
In Ephesians 5:14 the Holy Spirit calls out: “Awake, sleeper and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine as a dawn upon you and give you light.”
The circumstances-if allowed, will influence and affect our life. I am not saying that we should ignore them pretending like they don’t exist, but rather look up and allow the Holy Spirit to enlighten the eyes of our heart that we might see vividly the promises of God and hold fast to them and lift them above everything else. And circumstances eventually will change! If they don’t for awhile, still God will enable us to remain strong, mastering our flesh.
