“You are our letter [of recommendation], written in our hearts, recognized and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” 2 Corinthians 3:2-3
The beauty of our life in the Lord is that it reminds people around us to be assured in God’s ultimate goodness, that He’s been with them at all times.
We were not saved primarily to assert our belief on people, but rather approach them with God’s love for the sake of God’s love. None of us comes from the same background, so we need heavenly wisdom how to approach them, wisdom that will help us level with their situation. In that way we’ll “disarm” them to become softer. Listen, regardless of the unholiness of someone’s life, God is very interested in people, because He loves them as persons. He is completely and wholly aware of every detail in their lives. And having this in mind we can rest in the thought that God is building the trust between us and Him. Our trust in Him includes our willingness to explore His heart for us and others. Our very connection with God is based and supported solely on our trust in Him. And this trust should be our paramount in life, above gifts, callings, even faith. The key moment in the continuous building of our trust is our free will. If God included the counsel of His will, why would it be different for us?! We need to hear His will and to understand it, and then submit our will to His. If we understand but not follow through with submission then what is the purpose that will benefit us?! After submission obedience is required. These principals cannot be divided or cherry picked, they only work together. And we get something so valuable, priceless…trust that sets continually our feet on the Rock, and His absolute goodness.
