“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen…by faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.” -Hebrews 11:1, 3
Christian walk/life with the Lord is a mystery because our life is hidden in Christ but at the same time we ought to be visible for others. The mystery is also in the fact how Christ connects us, because at a given moment things are revealed to us for others and vise-versa.
And all this is because of the great gift Christ has given us-faith! Faith is precious and sometimes people don’t really grasp the depth of its value. The moment we do, it becomes invaluable to us, therefore we must guard it and protect it for it brings powerful revelation from heaven about the heavenly things, things which our mind cannot utter.
It’s unwritten rule that people consider two things as invaluable:time and memories! Now faith contains those things within itself. How is that possible?! When we act upon the inspiration of the Holy Spirit through the faith in us, those acts of faith create invaluable memories of its work and the time in which all the faith-work was performed becomes invaluable also (as the Scripture itself testifies about the work of the Holy Spirit through the life of those who committed themselves to God).
“I have fought the fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7) Paul wrote a powerful and profound statement here! He encouraged the believers to guard this precious and invaluable faith above anything else. In another place he wrote to them to test whether they are in the faith, which basically he exhorted them to test whether they consider faith as invaluable gift.
Indeed this faith of God in us is an amazing gift. It’s our tutor in this life. And what is important for us to know is that it was not given so we can impress God, but rather to act in His glory.
It will open a way for signs and wonders to take place, it will enable grace to be multiplied and peace to overwhelm us, and it will stir the realm around us and others.
